Overview

Fidelis Group were awarded the contract for commercial cleaning services at Ludlow Church of England School in Shropshire in 2019 following a tender process.

Ludlow Church of England School are part of the Diocese of Hereford Multi-Academy Trust having previously been a local authority-maintained school.

We provide a combined annual agreement for cleaning services to the school which also incorporates additional works including deep cleaning during school holidays.

Our team of seven operatives conduct daily housekeeping and cleaning of classrooms, laboratories, corridors and communal dining areas. Provision of consumables and cleaning of washrooms are within our contract too.

We ensure that all areas of the school site are immaculately clean and safe for students and staff to use on a daily basis.

“Having gone out to tender for our cleaning requirements, we were delighted to award Fidelis Group the contract as they were the best people for the job who came across as a professional and proactive organisation.

“Fidelis’ communication is second to none which is vital in my role and understanding where we are. The quality communication with Ian and the team is reassuring. It is also quite refreshing to be able to talk to someone who can help us. commented Rowena Morris, Business Manager.

COVID19 Secure School

During recent weeks it was essential to maintain high cleaning standards throughout the COVID19 pandemic during a time when schools have been closed.

We have been and continue to work closely with our team of operatives and the school to help the school maintain high levels of cleanliness and reduce the spread of infection with selected year groups returning.

Collaboration has been key to creating a new schedule of work and a plan that fits seamlessly and safely into a changing environment. Adjusting shift patterns have enabled social distancing through staggered start and end times in line with Government Guidance for Schools.

We have moved a staff member to start during the morning to clean and sanitise spaces after students had used them during the morning including classrooms, corridors, dining halls, washrooms and toilets along with high touch points.

This fitted in with the remainder of the team starting at the end of the school day to clean and sanitise the classrooms and areas used during the afternoon ready for the following day.

We aim to continue new working practices going into the new school year in line with government guidance to maintain a safe and clean environment for students and staff.

Alongside Ian and the team, we reviewed plans in the current climate to amend our cleaning requirements across the site and design a solution to ensure all rooms and spaces are cleaned thoroughly. This has been vital in preparing and maintain a safe and secure site for our students and teaching staff to return to.
